For the Commonwealth: Assistant District Attorney Madelyn Koppany

For the Commonwealth highlights the important work our prosecutors are doing to help secure justice in specific cases brought by the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office.

Assistant District Attorney Madelyn Koppany of our Family Violence and Sexual Assault Unit helped secure justice in a case involving a defendant convicted of assaulting and strangling his child’s mother in May 2019. During the trial, the complainant recounted the assault, as well as several other times during the course of the relationship that she was subject to the defendant’s abuse. The defendant is scheduled for sentencing in January 2022 before the Hon. Mia Perez.
