For the Commonwealth: Assistant District Attorney Madelyn Koppany

For the Commonwealth highlights the important work our prosecutors are doing to help secure justice in specific cases brought by the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office.

Assistant District Attorney Madelyn Koppany of our Family Violence and Sexual Assault Unit helped secure justice in a case involving a defendant found guilty of robbery, assault, and related offenses after a waiver trial before the Hon. Robert Coleman. The defendant was accused of punching a woman in the back of her head, causing her to lose consciousness, as well as robbing her of jewelry given to her by her parents decades prior. The defendant is scheduled for sentencing in October.
