For the Commonwealth highlights the important work our prosecutors are doing to help secure justice in specific cases brought by the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office.
Assistant District Attorney Maggie Hayes-Oberst of our Family Violence and Sexual Assault Unit helped secure justice in a case involving a defendant found guilty by a jury of a knife-point sexual assault of a former sex worker that occurred in December of 2018. The survivor testified against her attacker. The defendant will be sentenced by the Hon. Shanese Johnson in December.
