Tamara Johnson put her aspiring modeling career on hold when she learned she was pregnant with her daughter.

“Her daughter made her the happiest,” her mother Terrez McCleary said. “She just was bubbly and had so much joy with her daughter.”

After her daughter Gazalea was born, Tamara enrolled at the Community College of Philadelphia to study neonatal nursing.

“She was determined to get a good job so she could have all of this money to buy a big beautiful home for her and her daughter,” Terrez said.

That all ended on April 12, 2009, when she was murdered in Point Breeze 30 days after her 21st birthday.
