Sixers hold on late vs Suns, Improve to 17–19

The Philadelphia 76ers beat the Phoenix Suns 123–110 tonight. The Sixers get revenge for their last game against Phoenix where they lost December 14th in Philadelphia.

The Sixers jumped out to a 14 point lead at halftime and the lead grew to 18 early in the third. Phoenix then went on a 26–8 run to tie it up in the third. Philadelphia then went on a 41–28 run to close out the game and secure a victory.

Forward Dario Saric was the leading scorer for Philadelphia with 27 points, he added 4 rebounds and 2 assist. Center Joel Embiid had a good game in his return with 22 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists with a +/- of +32 in 31 minutes. Shooting guard J.J. Reddick added 22 points. Point guard Ben Simmons had a good bounce-back game with 21 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assist.

Late in the third quarter Joel Embiid, collided with Suns point guard Devin Booker and appeared to injure his hand on the play. Embiid received no medical attention and stayed in the game until the end. There has been no news about his hand so far.

This is the Sixers’ second win in a row and the team finishes 2–1 on this three-game road-stand. After this win, Philadelphia is 1.5 games out of the last seed in the Eastern Conference.

The Sixers end 2017 with a win and will look to put together more wins to get into playoff position.
