Nature’s dance

Evolution is great interest to me. There are millions of unique species in this world. The complexity of these species and their complex understanding of their environment and surroundings make us feel so small in comparison.
Mostly the unripe fruits are not tasty. The seeds are not well developed and the green fruits should discourage birds or animals from consumption.

The fruits are green in colour and green seeds camouflage better in midst of green leaves. Once the seeds are fully developed, the fruits are generally colourful and sweeter. It attracts animals and animals consumes and disperse seeds through poop which result in the expansion of those species.

Mangoes are big, grow in trees, attracts bigger animals like elephants and monkeys. Their seeds need to have a strong shield to survive the digestive systems of these bigger animals(Many of these bigger animals are extinct now). Mangoes are slightly laxative as well which will aid speedy dispersal of seeds. The bigger animals have stronger acids in its digestive system and if seeds may not survive long in the stomach.

How will a mango tree evolve to be so aware of its surroundings and mutate automatically?

One theory is 99.9% species that ever lived in this world are now extinct. The species that survive to this date, evolved over millions of years and only successful mutations survive today. Natural selection decides which mutations will live on and which ones to die. The favourable traits(colour, smell, size and taste) for survival are passed on to the offsprings and that aids in their survival.

This ecosystem is so complex and interconnected and nature is orchestrating the whole dance for millions of years now. We humans are mere puppets.
