A few words on a beautifully dark ballad.

We’ve all been in the Bermuda Triangle of love or should I say purgatory. The moment of complete and utter solitude; our only company is our thoughts. We roam the earth aimlessly entrenched in empty thoughts and emotions, the days seem endless while our past relationship mishaps feel domineering. It’s customary to turn to escapism in order to avoid the feeling of drowning in a sea of self-loathing; at the same time we are all still adrift and trying to weave through the cloth of reality that we have forged for ourselves.

Love can bring much joy and even greater hurt; this generates a muse for anyone in the arts, now I’m not saying this is Phil Beaudreau‘s angle, but darkness melded with the enchantment of unsuspecting love and wealth sheds a ray of light upon the ominous tones that travel throughout the song. Beaudreau takes you on a deep journey of loneliness, confusion, self-deprivation, with a hint of jealousy.

The message, to me, is that ultimately no matter how things end up; your path to normalcy will show itself once you lose yourself, and live.
