Introduction

A multipolar world refers to a global system where multiple powerful nations or blocs influence the direction of global affairs, rather than a very limited amount of dominant powers.

The emergence of such a multipolar reality demands a robust understanding of diplomacy, economic competition, politics, and cultural exchange to ensure its success.

So, to participate in this new, complex reality, some core philosophical concepts should be taken into account. They are classic, perhaps rusty, but they are what guided and still guide leaders and intellectuals in the debates about external affairs.

These concepts are far from pleasant, but to criticize them and overcome any negative consequences they may imply, we must first acknowledge them. Only then can we find our way out or establish a foundation for the peace we desire in the world.

After explaining these traditional concepts, I will also present contemporary ideas that approach external affairs in more sensitive ways in the conclusion of this article.
