A Little Help, Goes A Long Way
Giving back feeds the soul
A few months ago, we shared a post from Chained Dog Awareness Singapore (CDAS) on our Facebook page. It was the launch of their inaugural Pawgust campaign; to help raise funds for their rescue operations and raise awareness for their cause. We saw their call for help and took on the social media calendar and copywriting tasks (obviously) to help with their social outreach to drive sign-ups for their virtual Walkathon.
Our key thought was:
Why not help someone else since work is almost at a standstill due to the pandemic?
Finding The Balance
We had to take into consideration content and fun posts to garner the required traction to balance with the education and informative posts. At the same time, ensuring that CDAS’ core messages are communicated amidst all the walkathon excitement. Adding to that delicate balance, there would be an influx of new supporters. They would not have the same connection to CDAS as the older supporters, and might not know and trust that this Organisation yet. Education for them would be essential to ensure that they were informed that their monetary assistance was being used for good. The above content calendar plan definitely went thru the wringer as we tried to incorporate as many things as we could.
While we had grand plans, sometimes things go awry. The production of the swag pack ran into some issues, and everything had to be pushed back. The entire social media calendar had to be reorg and fit into a shorter time frame. And sometimes, we had to change plans due to unforeseen (and sad) circumstances. We definitely made it work as a team tho!
All’s well that ends well tho. The campaign was a success, and almost all the swag packs were adopted!
It feels great contributing to a good cause, and we hope to be able to do it again soon!
