If you see something, DO something.

It’s easy to be mad at United airlines. They screwed up on many levels. But what about everyone else there? There were dozens of people on that plane that they didn’t do anything other than watch and record with their phones.

Obviously it’s a good thing to record injustice when you see it, (that’s why we invented PhoneChainz!) but is it enough?

United had allegedly offered $800 for people to give up their seats. Even with $800 bucks on the line no one had the decency to say “Stop! I’ll get off this damn plane. Stop beating up an innocent man for no reason!”

This is how totalitarian rulers seize power. Little by little. Air travel has become an experiment in how much humiliation and injustice people are willing to take before they fight back.

Where are the heroes? Why did nobody try to stop these guys? Sometimes you need to throw your body on the gears of the machine to make it stop. Sometimes you need to get out of your comfort zone (or your comfy airline seat) to do what is right.

This is my promise to you. I will do what I can to DO SOMETHING when I see something that is wrong. I hope you will join me.

PS- I realize that there is a potential conflict of interest between trying to talk about social issues while selling phone cases. It’s not about the case. It’s about being a witness to injustice. It’s not about the product. There is a line between doing work for good and trying to sell soda using protest memes. We’re trying to be on the right side of that line. This is a work in progress, and we might be doing it wrong, but I’d rather try than do nothing.
