From Nothing To Zero

Life is something in between

How long does an egg become a grown-up chicken? It is roughly 35 days. Baby chickens spend their lifetime eating, sleeping and waiting to be killed. Some of them die from bird flu before growing up, the rest are strong enough to get through — but eventually will be killed and leave no evidence on the earth. What’s the purpose of a chickens’ life? Perhaps nothing.

To some extent I think human beings are similar to chickens. People are born with nothing (totally naked) and end with zero (ashes). Something in between birth and death is what we call ‘life.’ Life ought to be enjoyable but often we feel hopeless and depressed when something in our lives is out of control. Life has ups and downs; life is bitter and sweet. However, it is life that makes people different from chickens because we feel, we act and we leave proof that we ever existed by means of, for example, writing stories and taking photos.

Sadly it is not possible for human beings to be empowered to decide when we are given birth or when we die. Luckily we can choose how we travel this life journey and leave legacies that will be forever remembered.
