This photo was taken in 2017 in the fall in Spain. My friend and I were in the cathedral of

Navarrete to stamp on my Camino De Santiago passport. We also pinned a note on the world map. From the picture, we can see pilgrims’ pins from all over the world.

Camino De Santiago is a very famous path. At first, people went on the journey from their home to Catedral De Santiago to show their devoutness to God. Gradually, more and more people joined the journey, and then the paths they walked were named Camino De Santiago.

Currently, two paths from France to Spain became popular. Both are about 800 kilometers long. One is Camino del Norte, the other is Camino Francés.

“When there is a shell, there is a road.” There are shells along the paths to lead you to the right destination. Every pilgrim brings a shell with them as a mascot and distinguishes themselves from tourists or locals. When passing by a town on the path, pilgrims stop by the cathedral of the town and get a certified Camino De Santiago stamp to prove their participation and to remember the journey.
