This Old Geezer Shoots a Cityscape
I am an old geezer magazine photographer and writer from that past century. I consider myself to now be obsolete-redundant & retired. But I am an active photographer doing personal stuff with medium format camera and film, 355mm cameras and film and an astonishingly good Fuji X-E1. I guess I was lucky to work for magazines (in Canada and abroad) that had art directors who pushed me to my limits. I see little of this in this day and age. Nobody has taken the baton from Helmut Newton. City landscapes, no matter with how many art explanations as to why they are good, are still mostly humdrum for this jaded man. Years ago for a local business magazine the art director said he wanted cityscapes that were different. I used a Widelux (a dog of a camera) and jiggled while exposing the film.
