Last year we hacked together the bare bones of an app to organize a secret gift exchange among our team for Halloween. We called it “Secret Satan,” appropriately named for the holiday. It was a wild success and good bonding for a remote team. Nothing like candy from another country to keep All Hallows’ Eve interesting!

This year, we brought the app back and made some improvements so that we could use it for a Secret Santa winter-themed gift exchange here at Phuse.

But more importantly, we’ve made it available so that you can use it too!

Organize Your Secret Santa

If you have a holiday gift exchange to organize, you’ve come to the right place. Go to SecretSanta.Phuse.ca and follow the instructions on the first page to get started. All you need is a group of people you love and their email addresses to make it happen.

We also cleaned up the code base and made it open source on GitHub. Anyone who wants to design a new theme, add functionality, or make suggestions may do so by submitting a pull request! You can also fork the repo for your own personal project, if you’re feeling very merry.

Thanks to Ladies Learning Code, our friends in Toronto, for sharing our little app as part of their Happy Holidays celebration. Head over to Ladies Learning Code’s website to see what other warm fuzzies are available!
