This year, the five PropTech businesses presenting span across several high growth sectors, including Construction Technology (ConTech), robotics, asset management, and property visualisation technologies — all technologies which we anticipate will thrive in the post Covid-19 world.

Stuctor.io

Part of the Structor.io team

The problem

Almost 75% of asset owners and contractors say they can’t obtain fully integrated, real-time project data. Typically, managing construction projects involves hundreds of unstructured emails, spreadsheets, and legacy single-use tools. The result? Scattered datasets and inconsistent reports leading to sub-optimal decisions, many wasted hours and very often to mistakes and disputes.

The solution

Structor.io enables asset owners, developers and main contractors to deliver their construction projects more effectively by combining compliance, productivity and collaboration into an easy-to-use platform. Structor.io eliminates the need for emails, spreadsheets and multiple single-use solutions by integrating workflows into intuitive and real-time dashboards. The platform enables access to project metrics, reduces wasted efforts, improves decisions and ensures contractual compliance.

The team

Structor.io was co-founded by 4 friends in 2018 and is led by Delyan Ruskov and Martin Azmanov. The team has a combined 40 years of relevant experience across product development and construction. Delyan brings expertise in both computer science and management, most recently holding a role in The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and their telecoms, media and technology practice. Martin is the industry expert in end-to-end construction project delivery, most recently supporting the UK government estates transformation and managing multiple commercial and residential building projects.

Bright Spaces

The Bright Spaces team

The problem

There is a huge supply of office space today, with over 1.2b sqm in Europe alone. However, showcasing available spaces is usually incomplete and lacks interactivity between landlords, tenants and agents. The current offering includes basic websites, PDF presentations (usually printed), overall scattered information on all sorts of online and offline environments. This kind of disconnected and incomplete showcasing makes the pre-leasing process of office spaces costly and inefficient.

The solution

The first interactive solution for showcasing office spaces. It offers remote visualization for available floors in a full 3D web interface, having all the other relevant information available in a user-centric design. Bright Spaces drives the digital transformation of the Office Industry by optimizing pre-leasing process for Landlords, Tenants & Agents.

The team

Bright Spaces was founded by Bogdan Nicoara and Andrei Constantin in 2019 from their home country of Romania. The team of 5 has previously worked together for over 12 years, developing digital products and experiences for over 250 clients around the world. Their journey into Bright Spaces started on the back of winning 6 notable PropTech awards, including 1st place in the Leasing category at Skanska’s PropTech Hackathon.

Hausbots

The Hausbots team (for Business Live)

The problem

There has been very little innovation in the way we paint things since — well, since paint was invented. Safety and cost are key challenges for the sector. There are significant costs associated with scaffolding and access to buildings — often hundreds of thousands, before you can actually start working. What’s more, each year, in the UK, there are around 45,000 falls from height, 40 of which fatal.

The solution

After learning about the eye-opening statistics mentioned above, the Hausbots team set out on a mission to increase site safety and reduce costs on large exterior projects by bringing technology into the industry.

The result? A patent-pending new generation of wall climbing robot for all surfaces, first focussing on painting large buildings (exterior housing, warehousing) but with the potential to add attachments for cleaning, inspection and more. You can view the robot in action here.

The team

The Hausbots team is based in Birmingham, where they are building and testing their robotics under the leadership of co-founders Jack Cornes and Harry Smith. Jack is a true entrepreneur, having started his first business aged just 8! Now, he’s Managing Director at Hausbots leveraging his background in business and sales (previously at IBM). Harry loves hardware and is a true pioneer when it comes to building a physical product. In 2016 he won the Young Engineer for Britain Award and now heads up the technical side of Hausbots as Engineering Director.

Rest Solution

The REST platform

The problem

Professionals in Commercial Real Estate are losing up to 40% of their time by manually collecting asset level data from disparate sources and stakeholders, crunching it and then looking for risks and trends. They have to constantly worry about the data being accurate, consistent and updated.

The solution

A centralised platform for investment and asset managers that enables them to automate the collection of data, regardless of the source (external or internal) and to draw accurate and real time asset level data on a fully tailored basis. The platform can also automate the issuance of customised reports and to generate the business plans of the assets based on different leasing scenarios.

The team

REST Solution was founded out of France in 2017 by Brian Laleye and Guillaume-Henri Boucheron. Brian brings extensive technical experience having most recently worked at Rocket Internet and Schneider Electric and investing in residential assets through a family asset management firm in France while Guillaume holds a background in law and business, most recently holding roles at Baker Mckenzie and De Pardieu Brocas Maffei.

Propster

Some of the Propster team

The problem

Configuration and interaction with consumers is taxing and highly time consuming for property developers. With consumers requiring extensive support throughout the development process, little time is left for developers to focus on what they do best — build. Online communication and processes have already become mainstream in many industries; however, this is yet to cross over into property development.

The solution

A digital configuration and collaboration platform that optimizes the configuration of property developments and the interaction with consumers. The platform offers property companies and related consumers such as buyers, tenants and investors the opportunity to configure their project, apartment, house or office. It connects all relevant project participants and provides seamless documentation throughout the entire development cycle.

The team

Propster is based in Austria where it was established by founder Milan Zahradnik in 2017. Milan has built up a wealth of property expertise having spent over 15 years working within the real-estate sector and is now well placed to advance digitization in the industry. Today he is founder and CEO of Propster where the team of 24 is structured according to a “Holacracy” framework, a method of decentralized management, which Milan believes enables employees to take on more responsibility and offers greater potential for development.

The event will take place on Friday 19th of June from 10 am to 12pm BST . Don’t miss out, register your interest here.
