Better living through less click-bait

Happiness is just a no-click away.

Should you read this article, or one like it? Here are three quick-and-easy steps to answering that question.

  1. Is there a number in the title? (Yes/No)
  2. Is there one or more words in the title like ‘steps’, ‘ways’, ‘paths’’, ‘things’ ‘habits’, ‘reasons’ or ‘truths’? (Yes/No)
  3. Is there language in the title, sub-head or first paragraph suggesting your life/work/writing/parenting/lovemaking/squash game will be ‘better’, ‘happier’, ‘less stressful’, ‘more successful’, ‘improved’, ‘positive’ or ‘peaceful’ if you follow the steps in the article? (Yes/No)

If you answered ‘Yes’ to any one of the three questions, don’t click. Go for a walk. Your life will be better for it.
