Local Terry Johnson received a phone call on November 30th, confirming that his dad didn’t understand why the main character of the movie he just watched did that at the end.

Sources say it started after Terry’s dad called him and told him he just finished watching that movie he keeps recommending. Excited, Terry asked him if he liked it, only for his dad to say, “It was pretty good, but I’ve got some questions.”

Terry’s dad then shared that he was at a loss as to why the main character of the movie did that thing he did at the film’s climax. Terry, confused by the notion, easily explained that in the earlier scene, the main character’s actions were set up when he said that one line.

His dad followed up by saying “well, then how come he ended up with that girl?” Terry explained that he loved the girl because of the note she left him earlier. “Okay sure, but why were they all surprised that the other guy was the killer?” Terry, again, reminded his dad of the earlier scene where the killer was thrown off the cliff.

“Huh, I must have missed all those scenes,” his dad said.

When pressed by an even more confused Terry, his dad revealed that, “well I only caught the last thirty minutes on HBO.” Terry, now appalled, asked his dad why he didn’t just watch the film from the beginning. His dad explained that the big game had just ended, and when looking through guide on the TV, he noticed that the movie Terry mentioned was on, and he wanted to see it so they could talk about it.

Terry’s dad told our interviewer that he’s glad he watched the movie, but wouldn’t recommend it to others. “The ending didn’t have much punch to it. It could have been a lot better… I always have to take my son’s movie recommendations with a grain a salt.” Terry responded by saying: “What? He didn’t even watch the movie! This is exactly like when he calls me every week after fast forwarding through Game of Thrones.”
