1.5-Hour Pickleball Training Plan: Becoming Offensive
Warm-Up (10 Minutes)
Dynamic Warm-Up:
- Jogging, side shuffles, and dynamic stretches (e.g., arm circles, lunges).
Dinking Warm-Up (5 minutes):
- Cross-court and straight dinks, aiming for the opponent’s sidelines to set up offensive opportunities.
Drill 1: Aggressive 3rd Shot Drops and Drives (20 Minutes)
Objective: Improve decision-making and consistency with offensive 3rd shots.
Setup:
- Player starts at the baseline, coach or partner at the net.
Execution:
Alternate between:
3rd Shot Drive: Aim at the opponent’s feet or shoulders.
3rd Shot Drop: Focus on soft, precise drops that land in the opponent’s NVZ (No Volley Zone).
Feedback:
- Discuss shot selection based on the opponent’s position.
- Emphasize power control for drives and precision for drops.
