1.5-Hour Pickleball Training Plan: Becoming Offensive

Warm-Up (10 Minutes)

Dynamic Warm-Up:

  • Jogging, side shuffles, and dynamic stretches (e.g., arm circles, lunges).

Dinking Warm-Up (5 minutes):

  • Cross-court and straight dinks, aiming for the opponent’s sidelines to set up offensive opportunities.

Drill 1: Aggressive 3rd Shot Drops and Drives (20 Minutes)

Objective: Improve decision-making and consistency with offensive 3rd shots.

Setup:

  • Player starts at the baseline, coach or partner at the net.

Execution:

Alternate between:

3rd Shot Drive: Aim at the opponent’s feet or shoulders.

3rd Shot Drop: Focus on soft, precise drops that land in the opponent’s NVZ (No Volley Zone).

Feedback:

  • Discuss shot selection based on the opponent’s position.
  • Emphasize power control for drives and precision for drops.
