Earthlight

It is a poem about dreaming of basking in the glow of a full planet at night.

Can you imagine us waking up
Bathed in
The pale blue light
From
A full Earth night?
Moon craters
And the sea of
Tranquility in our sight
Holding each other
Tight
Reflecting on how we got to this height?
We have the perspective
Ok of extraterrestrials
I wonder why earthlings fight
Up here, everything is alright
As we settle into
Our new home
On Luna's base
The Pacific shines
On our face
Contrasted by the
Black void
Of space.

Live from my bedroom. Who needs a passport or rocket ship? I leave this planet every night!

First, I want to confess. This past year of 2024, my love of astronomy has reached an all-time high. It’s my official hobby.

This poem was inspired by a short documentary about astronauts' experience on the moon, and they said the area they were in was illuminated entirely by “ Earthlight.”

So it made me think, I haven’t gone to the moon, but I can recreate that wonder with my Galaxy projector. So I did, and here it is. How would you like to cuddle with someone under the pale blue Earthlight? 🌎
