And here we are, October 1. I love the first of the month. It feels like a fresh start, a clean slate.
Have you noticed new or different birds in your area? Here in Minnesota, I have heard reports of thousands of birds traveling through the area — here for a short time as they flee the incoming winter.
While at my mom’s home in Wisconsin I heard the most obnoxious-sounding bird calls, like a flock of geese with some serious cold symptoms. Soon after, a dozen cranes swept the skies above me — I was not expecting that.
During my editing days at Picture This, I’ve engaged with frequent writing and photography of birds. Herons, eagles, hummingbirds, storks, hawks — we seem to like our birds.
