This island is expensive, let me just put that out there. When I come to Honolulu I stay in a hostel, and I’m proud to admit that. I love budget travel.
I’m returning to Honolulu to pick up my daughter from her one-semester university exchange program in Hawaii. She loved it… she wishes it wasn’t over… but she’s coming home to graduate!
As with any good late flight into Hawaii, we arrived well after the buses ended for the night, so I took an Uber to my female dorm. I’ve stayed here once before and I highly recommend the Waikiki Beachside Hostel. This isn’t an affiliate link; I’m excited to share this place with you.
The vibe is amazing, even for a Gen-Xer such as myself. Honestly, I cannot afford $300.00/night for a room in Waikiki! It’s relatively clean, and cute and literally one block to the beach and main tourist area.
You can’t beat the location.
