Street art is growing in popularity and respect throughout the world. Not just in large urban areas but smaller towns and locales as well. I’ve been fortunate enough to encounter the rich textures left behind by street artists of varying degrees of skill level just about every place I travel and it adds so much interest, depth and personality. And admission is always free.

The city of Baltimore and Graffiti Alley is just one great illustrative example.

Upon heading to the city of Baltimore for a month-long stay, I was besieged by many odd comments that boiled down to: why on Earth would you want to go there?

I found this quite low-spirited. Just about everywhere you go on God’s green Earth there is a mix of great, good, bad and super horrible. Such things are never completely isolated to one country or city. Within neighborhoods deemed to be terrible, I’ve encountered so many people just trying to do the best they can in life and some even proclaim to love being exactly where they are and wouldn’t think about moving…
