The Picture This May Writing Challenge
Who or What First Influenced You to Write, Travel and/or Photograph?
I invite you to take a trip back in time, reach into the far-flung recesses of your mind, to a journey of discovery both old and new
Gotta admit, the last month or two I’ve been having an incredibly difficult time sitting down to write. It seems detestable to me, at this point though, to reduce it all to writer’s block. Seems so… escape-goatish… or a gross oversimplification… or something like that. Reducing it to such a generic term.
What is true is that I’ve tended to be distracted by a million things and stuffs in the mind other than sitting down to write. In April I took a trip back to my home state of Idaho to visit family. It’s been fun but also strange. For me, after traveling to so many places across the world, it’s like an odd sort of reverse culture shock. Such a bittersweet clash of old and new experiences! Other than a new building here and there, relatively little has changed around here. It’s both comforting and discombobulating. Like that neighborhood in Edward Scissorhands where something must. go. wrong. in order for the world to make sense once again.
