Pier Two Joins the Allora Network as a Node Operator

Pier Two are excited to announce that it has joined the group of node operators that help secure the Allora Network. Pier Two provides enterprise-grade infrastructure for institutional clients. Pier Two’s services include non-custodial ETH staking, and secure node and validation services.

Pier Two officially launched infrastructure services to support Chainlink, back in 2019, and has continued to evolve ever since. In addition to continued support for Chainlink products and services, Pier Two is a leading institutional staking service provider. Covering non-custodial ETH staking, support for LSTs, RSTs and AVSs, light client development, and support for NEAR and Chainflip, with new networks scheduled in the coming months.

Pier Two’s Australian-based infrastructure leverages both bare metal and cloud services, designed with global redundancies to ensure consistent, uninterrupted service. This allows Pier Two to operate high-performance validators, RPCs, and nodes across all supported networks, maintaining our dedication to security, reliability, and innovation.

Pier Two is uniquely positioned to help the Allora Network establish a strong foundation and enable it to thrive by deploying as a node operator in the beginning days of the network.

Evolution of the Allora Network

AI can be viewed as the most deflationary, expressive form of compute to ever exist and can process large amounts of information much more intelligently. For the past 3 years, Upshot has been building AI-powered crypto infrastructure to power new applications and protocols in gaming, lending, market making, and more. The flagship ML model Upshot Labs created for pricing long-tail assets (such as NFTs) is one of the most effective in the space, pricing more than 400 million assets with more than 95% accuracy.

The team’s earlier work in subjective consensus mechanism design, along with learnings gathered from building AI-powered crypto infrastructure, led them to create the Allora Network, a self-improving decentralized AI network that harnesses both the efficiency of AI and the wisdom of the collective to reach one mission: transform intelligence itself into a digital commodity.

As an Allora node operator, Pier Two furthers that mission by operating both a validator to secure the Allora chain and a Reputer to rate the performance of the ML models delivered by Allora Workers, performing a critical service that reinforces the self-improvement mechanism of Allora.

“Collaborating with node operators like Pier Two is crucial to the success of Allora,” says Nick Emmons, CEO of the Upshot team that created Allora. “Pat and his team’s dedication to secure blockchain infrastructure directly contributes to the growth and security of the network.”

Why Pier Two Chose the Allora Network

As a pioneer in Web3 infrastructure, we are always seeking to support the growth of cutting-edge protocols that drive net-new use cases. In our pursuit of this goal, we sought a versatile solution that would allow us to focus on creating innovative infrastructure tools.

After a comprehensive review Pier Two chose to integrate with Allora due to the network’s unique benefits:

  • Collective Intelligence — Models in Allora’s network continuously learn from each other, enhancing its collective intelligence and enabling it to self-improve over time.
  • Tamper-Proof Outputs — Allora utilizes zkML and cryptographic verification to create outputs that are verifiably secure and unalterable, ensuring trust in AI’s decisions.
  • Privacy Protection — Allora protects personal data through local processing, reducing the risk of breaches and preserving user privacy.
  • Universal Access — Allora offers permissionless, composable access to AI, enabling builders everywhere to innovate and create with AI as a foundational element.
  • Balanced Outcomes — Allora leverages diverse data inputs to reduce bias, leading to more balanced and fair AI-driven outcomes.
  • Context-Awareness — network participants forecast each other’s performance under the current conditions, thereby creating a form of context-awareness that enables the network to achieve the best inferences under any circumstances.
