This will make a lot of sense if you’ve read it here. Just FYI.

But if by chance you haven’t read the first chapter (which you probably should just stop with this and get to Amazon right now for it!), here’s a little background:

The phrase is he selene egeneto hos haima…. Which is Hebrew for….

The Moon Became as Blood

If you’re a biblical scholar, it should sound familiar. Heck, if you’re even somewhat literature savvy with the book of Revelation in the New Testament, this should be recognizable.

It references the foreboding verses in Revelation 6:11–13:

“And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood.”

So the question remains:

Why Did This Demon in Chapter 1 Call Out This Part of the Verse?

Again, though, you must read the chapter. It’s free, mind you. It’s the beginning of a sweeping horror epic regarding a demon possessing a victim and calling out our heroine of the day: Sariah Stone, Sister of the Seventh Seal Convent in Israel.

What should be perplexing about this, though, is the sign of a “blood moon” at least within the context of a book like Revelation isn’t exactly a moment of dread or despair. In fact, quite the opposite….

But one can wonder…. Is this demon ‘mocking’ Sariah’s faith then? Perhaps.

A Look at the Significance of the “Blood Moon”

Surprisingly enough, this concept of a “blood moon” isn’t exclusive to the Book of Revelation. We even see it in the Book of Joel, writing about how “the sun will turn into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes.”

For context on how cryptic that is: the Book of Joel was written probably more than 700 years before the Book of Revelation!

Furthermore, a “blood moon” according to this is described as both “great” and “terrible.” For good reason: it’s the sign of the end times.

The Apostle Peter even repeated this prophecy during Pentecost long before the Apostle John wrote the Book of Revelation: Acts 5, NT.

So this isn’t a terribly new thing from a Christian perspective.

The question we should all ask…. Should Sariah Stone be a bit perturbed at this?

It’s Time to See What She Does in Chapter II….

Follow the nightmare.
