Chapter One: The Attempt

It’s not like in the movies

How did we get here?

I wake up in the hospital hallway. I don’t have an IV in, no oxygen, not even a pulse oximeter to measure my blood oxygen levels.

My head hearts. My mouth is dry. I’m nauseous.

I look at my wrists. They’ve been cleaned up, but aren’t even bandaged.
