Pikcio’s labs team, led by Dr Jorick Lartigau, has signed a 3-year collaboration agreement with The National Center For Scientific Research (CNRS) specifically with the research unit “Methods Algorithms for Scheduling and Networks of LIRMM Montpellier, “ to study consensus protocols. The French National Center for Scientific Research is the largest governmental research organisation in France and the largest fundamental science agency in Europe.

Dr Rodolphe Giroudeau, from LIRMM (The Montpellier Laboratory of Informatics, Robotics and Microelectronics), in collaboration with Dr Benoît Darties, will be the scientific director of the study. This is the second long-term research contract signed by Pikcio Labs with CNRS in Montpellier.

The study’s purpose:

The overall of the study will be to map out existing and proposed consensus algorithms, to evaluate not only their advantages and deficiencies and their business implications, but also alternative approaches used by competing systems. Once this knowledge based is established, the main objective will be to propose and test new models with new business implications. These models, in addition to meeting the usual operating constraints of the consensus algorithm, must also ensure scalability, which requires the consideration of optimization strategies on the proposed algorithms. In this sense, the expertise of the LIRMM MAORE team, both on the implementation of optimization strategies, and on the implementation of strategies for securing data exchanges using the blockchain, is particularly suitable for this project.

What is Pikcio Lab?

PikcioLab is the core innovation center at Pikcio, introducing new models and an optimization layer for the PikcioChain. PikcioLab is comprised of blockchain network explorers, cryptographic experts and data scientists whose goal is to find balanced solutions that meet the needs of the customer and comply to the latest regulations.

The privacy of individuals and their personal data are the core focus and the research conducted. Current research and developments topics cover consensus process e.g. Proof of Usage, Smart Contracts, tokenization, data and consent management…

Why Pikcio?

Pikcio is able to offer 100% digital and GDPR compliant solutions for every organization facing complex processes to collect, verify and classify customer data.

Founded in 2014, Pikcio is headquartered in Switzerland but has a global presence with offices around the world.
