Pikcio plays a major role in issues related to the protection of users’ data. The concept of trust is central to Pikcio’s values and product range. Through its new browser, the company is now on the verge of changing how users navigate the Internet, making it more secure but just as customizable. Here is what you need to know ahead of the browser’s release.

1. How is it different from other browsers?

The PikcioBrowser uses innovative peer-to-peer technology that enables decentralized use from a single interface. This basically means that unlike most browsers, the PikcioBrowser will not store cookies for its own information or to disclose to third-party entities. Users’ personal information and searches will remain strictly confidential.

Of course, other systems also enable such confidentiality, such as the Incognito feature on Chrome. However, the price of such measures is usually the quality and relevance of the search results. So while users’ searches remain private, results are no longer tailored to their needs or browsing habits. This results in a bad user experience and defeats the purpose of using the browser in the first place.

The PikcioBrowser offers the best of both worlds: private browsing and tailored search results.

2. How does it protect my privacy?

As mentioned above, user searches cannot be tracked or stored on a centralized server. Search data is only stored locally, on the user’s device, so they can still benefit from having saved passwords and a search history.

In order to take data protection further, the PikcioBrowser provides users with total anonymity thanks to its Matryoshka protocol.

Instead of the user sending its search query directly to the search engine server and leaving cookies as evidence, the query will bounce from a trusted relay Pikcio node to another before reaching the server. This way, neither Pikcio, the search engine or any other party will be able to trace a search query back to its user.

Additionally, the path taken by the search query will never use the same relay nodes. Thus, usage patterns cannot be identified or used for any purpose.

3. How does it tailor my search results?

On traditional or mainstream navigators, an AI is embedded to the browser to provide users with a range of search results and accuracy features. While web search engines such as Google give good search results, they also track personal data and browsing histories through cookies.

Pikcio’s AI does the same job and provides users with quality search results without compromising on security or confidentiality. How so? While the PikcioBrowser does not store cookies or any kind of data on a server, browsing habits and search habits are recorded and stored on the user’s device in order to improve the future browsing experience.

4. How am I rewarded for using the PikcioBrowser?

Users can use the PikcioBrowser as previously described, no strings attached.

Those who wish to contribute to the network and become relay nodes simply need to create their online profile and generate a Pikcio-ID. Becoming a relay node entails contributing a small amount of CPU and bouncing search queries. Each time a user helps another user’s search, they will increase their TCI as well as earn rewards in the form of PKCs.

5. How do I get started?

Once the PikcioBrowser is available, users will be able to download the software on their devices and create a Pikcio-ID from the interface. Once identified, so begins the new browsing experience!

The PikcioBrowser is scheduled to be released by the end of March. Early access to our beta browser will be given to 50 users at the beginning of March. We look forward to having you take part in our beta browser and rewarding you for your feedback.
