PikcioMe: our personal data application revealed

Pikcio is delighted to announce the release of the beta version of PikcioMe. Here’s what to expect from your new personal data app: a private search engine and P2P chat, as well as a personal crypto wallet and public profile.

Pikcio profile

Your Pikcio profile has an account overview and settings menu, as well as several sections:

  • Identity
  • Browsing
  • Interests
  • Downloads

There you can view your Pikcio ID, Trust Capital Index (TCI) and your public avatar (which you can change). Your Trust Capital Index increases with the amount of personal details you add to your profile. While users are free to only add their most basic personal details, their TCI will be fairly low and visible to others.

You can also manage your settings, such as various preferences, browsing history or becoming a relay node.

Identity

You can fill in your personal details such as your name, date of birth, postal address, etc. You will later be able to upload identity documents such as your passport and proof of address. You will then be able to choose to have them certified for future business interactions. PikcioMe can also be connected to your different social media accounts.

All of these features are optional, and users are not required to complete all of them. They will however increase your Trust Capital Index and make it easier for you to subscribe to different services as the data you need to provide will most likely be on your profile.

Browsing

There you will find your most visited websites and the number of views associated with each one. This helps PikcioMe tailor your search results to your browsing patterns, so you don’t have to scroll endlessly until you find the desired website. Regular use of PikcioMe increases the quality of your search results. By importing your browsing history into your PikcioMe settings, your search results will be immediately improved to fit your needs.

You can also find your browsing history in the “browsing” tab, including the websites that you visited and the search query you entered in the search bar. Also, locating a website you visited a long time ago no longer needs to be a tedious process. We have implemented a search bar and calendar for a more effective search through your history.

Interests

Depending on your browsing patterns, your main interests are represented as a web graph. These interests are also ranked with stats, such as their percentage and the number of occurrences in your search activity. You can also use your interests to connect with other like-minded people. Of course, you can delete these interests if you wish to keep them private.

Downloads

The “download” tab shows your download history, with file names and download dates. Your device will automatically open the file from your device upon clicking on it.

PikcioBrowser

Using the PikcioBrowser will provide you with both private search and tailored results. That’s right, you still benefit from results that are curated according to their personal relevance to you, despite not collecting your data on a server.

How do we do it? Our Artificial Intelligence simply records your browsing habits (on your device only) to learn from you, your interests, and your favourite sites to improve the quality of your search results. Your data is not tracked nor is it stored for our own benefit in any way. This information is only available to you and your device.

Your search engine also offers features such as selecting a light or dark theme (by clicking on the Pikcio logo) and enabling/disabling your geolocation. In order to indicate the types of content you are looking for, you can also select your search type: web, contact, image and video. Finally, you can save any website that has caught your interest in your bookmarks folder, which you can access through your side menu.

PikcioChat

Our private peer-to-peer chat protects user privacy and secures communication flows, as does our search engine. Basically, user details and messages are not stored in a database, unlike most messaging platforms. User identities are protected, and for maximum anonymity and confidentiality, messages are encrypted and bounce on relay nodes.

The chat’s search feature allows you to find contacts by entering their usernames in the search bar. You can also invite those who do not yet use PikcioMe to join the network.

PikcioWallet

The PikcioWallet shows your PKC balance statement and is linked to your Neoscan page. You can access account activity and view your latest transactions, market information, etc by clicking on “more details”.

In later versions PikcioMe, users will be able to transfer PKC to each other as well as receive PKC for their contribution to the network as relay nodes.
