Scope: Micro-Holiday

Size: Group, Tauren, Orc and Troll only.

The Tauren of Kalimdor and Highmountain were re-united during the recent effort against the Legion. To show their antler-blessed kin their new home, Baine Bloodhoof suggested a ritual to remember the old times: Plainsrunning.

This three-day event takes place starting at the date marked for the Tauren to settle in Mulgore. The run starts with the spiritwalker representatives of both Tauren people in front of Orgrimmar, to honor the loyalty and friendship between the two races. The participants will then move to North Kalimdor, move down to the southern end to face the Thousand Needles and back North to enter and circle in Mulgore, ending the journey in front of Thunder Bluff where the leaders of Kalimdor Tauren will greet them.

Barrens: A land that a deep bond was forged between the Orcs and the Tauren

Tauren participants can simply plainsrun while orcs and trolls will have to ride a mount that’s in line with Kalimdor and the Tauren people. Kodos are the most obvious choice, while wolves, raptors and wyverns flying low are also common sight. Anything directly unrelated to the races and Barrens will not be accepted.

During the journey, the Spiritwalkers will talk about the importance of locations as they pass by them, such as the massive thorns being the blood of Agamaggan, how the orc-tauren friendship started, how Baine was saved by Rexxar’s gang etc

Gameplay

The participants will be part of something called the Harmony of the Plains, which will appear in game as a buff. Also, random spirit animals will appear on sides and follow the participants throughout the run. The more people are together in the same Harmony, the more spirits will appear and they’ll be larger.

The participants with the buff, if not manually moved away, will automatically be moved to a place and run on the correct path. With multiple people, the game will arrange the space accordingly, including “air slots” for those riding wyverns. Also, if there is a group close by, running ahead or just behind, the players can use the appearing button “Harmonize” to speed up or slow down to be part of that run. The participants will automatically run in formation.

Conclusion

The whole run needs to be completed in a single go. Once this is accomplished, the player will be rewarded with a Plainrunner’s Memento, a toy that works in Durotan, Mulgore and Barrens and once pressed summons a spirit Kodo that will non-stop run at a very fast speed until cancelled.
