In time for the 50th anniversary of Earth Day (22nd April) we were able to share our new Pilio energy saving platform that we have been beavering on through the winter months. Here are some key features that we think will help you better target your energy waste and head you in the right direction towards net carbon zero to protect our climate.

1. Find out your Energy Health Check score
We have created the Energy Health Check — in just thirty multiple choice questions we are able to assess how well you on doing in terms of developing an environmental policy, creating an action plan, having staff with responsibilities for energy saving, communicating with staff on expectations for energy saving, using your data intelligence, and prioritising capital investment. On completing the questionnaire, you are automatically given your results in a report with suggested recommendations. The results of the health check can be used to start the conversation with colleagues and build the business case for energy saving action.
2. Get a bird’s eye view of your estate with the snapshot
The new Snapshot page enables you to quickly see your estate performance and pinpoint what is going on with specific buildings. With our new customisable tiles, the Snapshot showcases what you most want to know — energy consumption this year to date, highest consuming buildings, carbon rating of your buildings, meters exceeding set thresholds, utility costs, progress towards meeting your carbon budget, notification of meters online, plus many more options.
You select the tiles and place them in the order you want. You can create a tile for the whole estate or for individual buildings.
3. Calculate your potential saving with our Retrofit Calculator
Energy efficiency and financial sustainability can be difficult. That is why we have created a Retrofit Calculator (ROI tool) for you to get a ballpark idea of what the payback will be from replacing your lighting and heating system with best in class equipment. You simply input key information about your current equipment and then we take care of the rest. With the click of a button you will find what what the potential energy, cost and carbon savings and in what time frame. With our ROI tool you will be able to prioritise capital projects to improve the energy efficiency of your buildings.
4. Make sure you only have essential equipment on overnight
Overnight consumption is the number one enemy of energy efficiency! The easiest way to cut your energy consumption is to understand how much energy is wasted during the hours of building unoccupancy and act to reduce it. On average, between 10–20% of energy savings can be made focusing on overnight consumption reduction.
5. Receive monthly estate and building reports
We have completely refreshed our Monthly Energy Reports! If you are the business owner, you will receive a monthly email that illustrates the overall performance of your estate — at a glance you will know which buildings are using the most energy and be able to immediately investigate before receiving a surprise energy bill. Your building managers will see how their building is performing this month against the same month last year for energy, carbon and cost.
