I first met David Friedman on a kickball field, where we spent our early 20s kicking a big red ball around on Saturday afternoons, reliving the magic of our youth. At a time when most people were still trying to figure out what they wanted to be when they grew up, David was already busy running his first company, Boston Logic.
As everyone gathered around the flip-cup table, David and I hit the corner, geeking out over the companies we were running. I was a partner in a small business at the time, and while it was fun to talk shop, it was also clear that David and I were on two very different paths. I was trying entrepreneurship on for size; David was serious about building a company that would have a lasting impact. He was the real deal.
Over the next decade, David evolved Boston Logic into a full-service platform for real estate companies including a CRM, online marketing and design capabilities. He grew the team, expanded operations, and eventually took on a substantial private equity investment from Providence Equity. David remained in the Executive Chair seat following the investment, stepping down as CEO to spend time with his new baby.
A few months ago, he reached out to catch up; he was fired up about an idea for a new business — Knox Financial.
