The way forward — and how we’re getting there

Some people might not even realize how BIG the Pillar Forum being integrated with the Wallet really is.

Let’s rewind a bit…

The Pillar Project recently retired its main community platform, Mattermost. To be completely fair, we’ve been steering away from it for a few months while preparing to migrate to a better solution.

And finally, the day came for us to do just that.

Our Forum is not new news. We’ve had a Pillar Forum for some time. What’s new and absolutely fantastic — more on that in a bit — is the fact that if you have the Pillar Wallet you’re able to login to the forum by simply using your Wallet. You’ll keep your unique username, with no need to set up a new account.

As simple as that you’ll have access to all things Pillar: discussions, announcements, community banter, and meeting like-minded people. Our Forum is now our community hub, and we want you to be part of it.

This was over 1,5 years ago on our Mattermost. Let’s keep growing on the Forum!

Being able to log into external sites with the Pillar Wallet is a new feature that we hope will have an impact on our quality of life — it also points us in the direction of the greater Pillar vision.

Imagine if everything was as effortless as that.

Every online service, linked to one username. Every system being directed to your identity inside the Pillar Wallet without asking for any other additional data. No need to create dozens or even hundreds of accounts.

Isn’t this what the Personal Data Locker is all about? A place where you store your information and use it when you need it, while always in control*?*

Every big thing starts out small.

This is but the first stone on the path forward. By looking at it, is not hard to imagine the whole walkway that will take us to our goal.

Let’s walk, shall we?

PS: Oh, and by the way, you can access the Forum here.
