Across 20 different languages and near human accuracy, Facebook’s latest AI will be analyzing thousands of posts per second across its platform.

This means Facebook will truly understand the content and context of status updates, posts and stories that everyone shares. It will recognize when to respond to a user if they posted that they need a ride for example, and will suggest an Uber or alternative mode of transportation.

Facebook’s first step is to have this AI learn quickly and what better place for it to roll out in than its messenger service.

This is a big play for Facebook to increase its opportunity to engage its massive user base with a very intelligent sales recommendation product. I recognize some cues here from retail behemoth Amazon. There is no question that this pushes the importance of conversational commerce forward in a very big way.

Privacy will be key.

Giving up some privacy will be the one hurdle for Facebook users to accept, but I see this ecosystem ultimately very willing to adopt yet another Facebook advancement with the sole mission of trying to provide the best possible social experiences to everyone.

Marketers, if you’re not strong at Social this is your opportunity to be personal.

The rise of messaging apps is significant and this innovation within it creates a stronger case for marketers to realize its potential. Yes, you’ll probably have to pay-to-play but think of this environment as no different than a party. You weren’t exactly invited, but to you, high value attendees will be there. And more so would be delighted when you offer something they’re looking for vs. forgotten if you weren’t there. Better yet, anticipating what they’re about to look for. Imagine that, exclusive entry into millions of conversations/parties around the globe and you get to skip all the pleasantries and just get to business. Sounds like it’s worth a ticket to get in.

In the end DeepText has tremendous upside potential and quite possibly the most advanced engine to better serve consumers content, services and commerce all in a single platform. Are you ready and willing to get onboard with this?
