SJND Girls 1st 2023 Basketball Scrimmage

The girls first basketball scrimmage was November 14th at 6:00 PM. The girls scrimmaged against Holy Names High School. SJND won against Holy names 43–30. Due to their game being a scrimmage, they played six 5 minute games instead of quarter, so there was no running score. In the first quarter, SJND scored 2 points. In the second quarter, the team scored 6 points. In the third quarter the team scored 12 points. In the fourth quarter the team scored 7 points. In the fifth quarter the team scored 7 points. The sixth quarter they scored 9 points.

On the Holy Names team, in the first quarter they scored 7 points. In the second quarter they made 5 points. In the third quarter they made 4 points. In the fourth quarter they made 4. In the fifth quarter they made 5 points. In the sixth quarter they made 5.

The coaches of the girls basketball team are Jazmine Jackson and Tiara. This is their first year coaching at SJND and they are very good coaches. They are helping the girls thrive despite the fact that this is a new team. The players on the team are Isabella Corral, Brooke Brown, Malia Musson, Caitlyn Colantuono, Melanie Martinez, Safah Hashemi, Bitaniya Hailu, Julia Guzman, Olivia Boldt, Jada Johnson, Anamaria Cornejo, and Nia Jackson. The person who dropped the most points was Isabella Corral at 14 points. She also runs cross country and is fast so she is really good at driving through the court. The player with the best defense was Brooke Brown.

Holy Names girls basketball team players are Dayanara, Precious, Vivi, Leilanie, Margaret, Sonja, Johanna, Lauren, Miyai, Karla, Alondra, Nyla, and Kaiden. The player who dropped the most points was Precious at 14 points. The player who played the best defense was Precious.

The next games were November 17th at 8:00 PM and one on Saturday November 18th at 2:00 PM. The games are located in Antioch at Cornerstone Gym. The game on the 17th was against Concord High School. The game on Saturday the 18th, they played against Deer Valley (loss 52–28).
