On December 11th of 2023, the SJND women’s soccer team had a game. against St. Vincent De Paul at our home field (College of Alameda). The game started at 3:30pm. The game ended with SJND winning 1–0. With the win, the women’s soccer team has a 3-game winning streak.

The game started out pretty slowly. Although we noticed that the team we were playing against was at the exact level as we are, we didn’t let that bother us. The team fought throughout the entire first half keeping the score 0–0 with no goals scored.

The second half started out with us playing 100 times stronger and with more confidence. There was an improvement of communication being used which helped the team out. Our passes were improving as the flow of the game progressed. Although we only scored once, we had a lot of opportunities. The goal was scored by AnnaSophia ‘27 and the assist by Kaitlin ‘24. I believe that Kaitlin did an amazing job with communicating towards me, and she also had very good passes.

I believe that this game went very well. Although we only got one goal, this game was one of our best games we’ve played. We played as a team with communication and all did pretty well. Our defenders were great with keeping the ball up, our players up top were playing great with good pressure, and at one point our goalie Andrea Guzman ‘26 had an amazing save. Overall, I am very proud of the team and how they played, and I hope to continue playing this well.
