Recently, a club has been stirring up the SJND Kelly Gymnasium.

A club where ordinary people and athletes alike can reach their full physical potential. A place where people can grow stronger, be better, all together. The club you may ask? The Weightlifting Club! Let’s hear from a student who is eager to join and gain insight into why you might want to join.

From the interview, this is what they had to say:

Q: Can you tell us about your experience and background in weightlifting?

Kent V: I’ve been lifting for 7 months in total and began again this summer. I work out 5 days a week on average.

Q: Are you interested in joining the weightlifting club? And if so, why?

Kent V: I’m interested in joining the weightlifting club to meet up with people like me who share a common interest in lifting, create new bonds, etcetera.

Q: What do you think the future holds for the weightlifting club?

Kent V: I think that as more people join and feel the benefits, the club could grow. Maybe we’ll even compete. I just want the club to be a fun way to stay fit and make some friends at school.

Q: Are there any specific goals you have in mind for your first year in the weightlifting club?

Kent V: To make progress with my training while being more involved in the community.
