Pup Talk
By Steve Wardrip
I am dog. I do dog things. I am here now, as a puppy, but not for long. There is everything I need here, water, food a place to sleep, poop and pee. I have chew toys and a bed. My people are good to me, except for the four year old! Man, the day that kid tried to squeeze me to see what I would do. I squealed and he let me go. That was good. I don’t want to think of what could have happened. I like to chase balls, chew toys and cats. If I ever catch a cat…. I don’t know what I’m supposed to do, but I’ll do it.
I like riding in that big thing that moves. The wind coming in the hole in the side by the seat feels good on my face, nose and ears. I like smelling around. There is neat stuff on the soft and fuzzy floor. I found a french fry and some chocolate. Humans say chocolate is poison for dogs, but dogs don’t care. We don’t eat that much chocolate! I can eat lots of everything. I love food and water.
Riding in the car on a full stomach makes me sleepy. I’m taking a nap. See ya when I wake up. Goodnight.
I’m awake. I need to pee, so I do. Mom is mad at me. They should have thought of this. So, now that episode is behind us. My nose is getting it back together and my tail is wagging. What’s this purse looking thing? I don’t know but it sure is good to chew on. They probably wonder why I’m so quiet. Hehe. I love purse stuffing, but this red tube of stuff tastes funny. My mouth and face is red. They don’t know it yet but there is getting ready to be some excitement. Just wait until they see the purse party I’ve been having in the back floorboard. All the contents are chewy, but my favorite is bubblegum, but it’s getting all over everything, just like this makeup stuff. It smells good, but tastes bad. I think I might be getting sick.
They pull over to the side of the road and it gets really interesting. I’m sick, they are sick. We are all sick. Talk about fun!
