It’s All About You…Nothing Else and No One Else

I’m writing this post because I’m a little lost… Surprising right? A person who gives so much life gyaan can also be lost?
Well, it’s the truth… There are times in everyone’s life when you can feel lost, and this feeling can appear more times than you like.
That’s probably the reason why you start philosophising in the first place…because you’re trying to make sense of life, and the reason for your existence.
People say find your purpose and life will get simpler… But recently I read a quote by the philosopher Osho, who said — ‘Life has no purpose, the purpose is life.’
If living itself is a purpose, what are we seeking then? Why can’t we be happy with our mundane routines? Why do we yearn for more — to do more, be more, have more?
Is it because we are simply not at peace with ourselves, or is it because we believe we are made for ‘bigger, greater’ things?
It is, in fact, a whole load of crap…this constant need to seek greater meaning/purpose/fulfillment…
We can philosophise and philosophise…but deep down if we are still yearning for more, we are essentially unable to enjoy the present moment…and celebrate who we are right now…
All of life unfolds from a place of calm, stillness, and acceptance… A deep content knowing that you alone are enough…what follows next will then be a bonus — a wonder, a surprise — helping us look at life with amazement in each new moment.
What restricts us is the need to become something — to keep doing, or being, or acquiring… When we keep looking at ‘what next’ we essentially shut out ‘what is’.
This tragic state of mind keeps most of us trapped…trapped from truly enjoying this present moment, from ‘being in the now’.
I was speaking to a friend the other day, and telling him — I don’t know where my life is going. And he answered, ‘But why do you need to know, why can’t you just ‘be’… Whatever phase you are in now, enjoy it.’
And that’s probably when the greatest realisation dawned upon me…
We really do need to just ‘be’ at times — without the need to go anywhere, achieving anything, become something…
Deep in our psyche we’ve always believed that our trappings are who we are — our jobs, work, family, friends. But after a point all these things live their life, their significance fades, and we start looking for something deeper…
That’s when we realise that everything outside of us, even some ‘bigger’ purpose is not enough… What is enough is knowing we are exactly ‘who’ we are meant to be, and we are exactly ‘where’ we are meant to be.
Anything else is a lie…a trap to make you feel smaller, lesser, not enough.
But you are enough, and that’s the biggest truth…
So be who you are for a little while more, hold the truth, hold the peace within you, hold yourself as is, and then see what unfolds naturally…
