Arjuna said: “We do not know which alternative — to fight or to quit — is better for us. Further, we do not know whether we shall conquer them or they will conquer us.

Very often the challenges we face in life seem insurmountable. As we put our minds, hearts, and bodies into dealing with them, we question the end result of it all…

Will the fight even be worthwhile, or will it be futile, taking us down a road of further confusion and pain?

Just like Arjuna in the great epic Mahabharata, who gave up momentarily on the battlefield and decided not to fight his cousins and uncles before Krishna intervened, each of our minds play similar games with us.

We may first decide to give up on the challenge totally, unable to face it… This could happen due to denial or the inability to accept what we need to do. It could also be due to our fear of failure, or perhaps, just a lack of self-belief.
