On a recent trip to the United Kingdom, we visited William Shakespeare’s birthplace Stratford-upon-Avon. Being a fan of the Bard’s oeuvre right from my undergrad days to my post-graduation in English Literature, I was thrilled to finally get a little closer to the Master, at least in spirit!

As writers, we are naturally intrigued by the process of writing and thinking that led to such genius. We wonder about the life and circumstances of the author, but know well that the end product is way beyond the sum of its many parts.

Nevertheless, getting a peek into the author’s life and times was a revelation of sorts…
