3 steps to better customer service

Customer service can make or break your business. Here are three easy ways to stay in touch.

  1. Make a connection. When you first meet a new customer or potential customer find out something special about her. What are her kids names? Where does she work? What’s her favorite drink from the coffee shop. This will be important because when you call her you can ask her how things are going with *enter child’s name. You can offer to deliver her product at work when you know you’re going to be on that side of town (because you already asked where she works.) When you take her out for coffee, you can have her drink ordered ahead of time. These are all tiny touches that just make her feel special, noticed. You can make all these notes in the customer profile section of Pink Office, that way this information is with you on your mobile device, where ever you are.
  2. Make it a priority. Sometimes our focus becomes getting new customers and meeting new people. It might be easy to forget to stay in touch with those we already have. Set an appointment with yourself each week or a few minutes each day to make important follow up calls.
  3. Make it on the list. Set tasks in Pink Office to follow up with certain customers on certain days. Those tasks will appear on your PO calendar and on the task list on your dashboard screen as an easy reminder.

Set a goal to contact 3–5 existing customers a day. If you are a new consultant it might take a little time to develop that many customers to have to call, but if you make it a habit early on, you’ll have a strong and solid base of customers. You’ll be in the court of sales before you know it!
