Contact as a Service
For some context on this article: Roads, electricity, healthcare and education are civil services provided by Govt. to its citizens in the 20th century. With the evolution of TV, Internet and Mobile Wireless : Cellular coverage, Internet and TV service are also becoming basic civil services that Govt. needs to ensure is available in all locations.
In this article, I want to explain the vision of:
Contact Info as a Service
Individuals need to be able to request access to contact information of other individuals or organizations. This contact information, must not be distributed publicly as it can lead to to mis-use, e.g., sold and distributed for marketing products and goods. Changes to this contact information must be automatically pushed to previously authorized entities. Any contextual information which can help in estimating a communication decision based on shared contact information, also needs to be shared. This contextual information is called as Presence Information and can be derived from calendar app or other sensors (e.g., sleeping, driving, watching TV).
Pintact is striving to achieve the above notion of Contact as a Service. A user can create one or multiple profiles. Each profile represents a unit of contact information that can be shared. Pintact allows sharing 1 or more profile to a requesting party. Multiple profiles allows users to selectively share different information to different requesting parties. Furthermore, any changes to these profiles is automatically distributed to previously authorized parties.
Pintact profiles also act as mediums for unification of user identities on different services e.g., reddit, Quora, Pinterest, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Skype, Google. As a contact information today need not be a phone number or an email address or home address.
