Hear from Tamsin, one of Pinterest UK’s Pinners of the Year 2019. Find out about how she started her Blog and what it means to her to win UK Pinner of the Year 2019.

Tell us a bit about yourself and your blog?

Hello! I’m Tamsin and I blog at cupfulofkale.com. At Cupful of Kale you’ll find mostly healthy, always vegan and easy to follow recipes! There are sweet and savoury recipes for every occasion and craving!

How did you get started?

I started sharing photos of my food just for fun on social media about 3 years ago. Then I realised I wanted to share my recipes with my audience and decided to set up the blog!

When did you start?

I started Cupful of Kale in 2017 whilst working part-time as a nursery teacher. I then went full time with it in the summer of 2018!

Why did you start?

Because I want to inspire, encourage and help people eat more plant-based foods. I also love cooking and photography so it’s the dream job!

What are you currently saving?

I’m currently saving recipes for Christmas — both my own and others. As well as new content from the blog.

What or who inspires you?

I find inspiration from new places I visit, the different seasons and other bloggers!

When did you start to see success on your Pinterest profile?

When my photography improved and I was creating more eye-catching photos. I also made sure I created boards that were relevant to my blog and my audience and saved content around that.

What’s the one thing you know about Pinterest that you think everyone should know?

Not everyone needs to know what you’re saving — use secret boards for topics that aren’t relevant to your blog or for present ideas!

What’s your top tip for success on Pinterest?

Keep creating high-quality content that you know people are going to be interested in.

What are your Pintentions for 2020?

Continue to grow traffic from Pinterest to my blog and make some Video Pins!

What does it mean to you to win Pinner of the year?

I’m still not sure it’s really sunk in! I’m super grateful, there are so many talented bloggers out there and I know how hard we all work. It’s amazing to be recognised for that, so thank you!
