Pinterest is one of the largest beauty platforms in the world. With billions of beauty Pins saved and millions of unique viewers of hair and beauty ideas on the platform, “beauty” is one of the most searched categories on Pinterest. This year, Pinterest partnered with Vogue India on their annual event that celebrates the world of beauty, the Vogue Beauty Festival 2020. Vogue invited experts and influencers from all over the world to share their stories, tips and tricks in a series of workshops and videos hosted on Vogue India’s digital channels. Pinterest hosted a masterclass entitled “Find your Beauty Inspiration” where we invited our favorite creators and Pinners to share how they have used the platform to adjust their beauty routines to the new normal.

“[Pinterest’s] creative ideas in the space of beauty and grooming for the
Vogue Beauty Festival were as accessible as innovative, and I hope this stepping stone will foster many more creative collaborations in the future.”

— Priya Tanna, Vogue India Editor-in-Chief

Showcasing Local Pinners & Creators

Pinterest collaborated with Monalisha, Tanvi, Sanjana and Vikram to showcase how they were able to find beauty inspiration on Pinterest and turn that into a reality. Monalisha recreated a pin that featured an eye-enhancing make-up look that stands out while wearing a mask. Sanjana leaned into the at-home self-care trend and tried out multi-masking to rejuvenate her skin. Tanvi debuted a casual work-from-home make-up look that looks great in your everyday video calls. And Vikram showcased some hairstyling tips that he picked up from the male grooming pins that he found on Pinterest. Here’s the masterclass featuring all of our favorite Creators:

“Pinterest x Vogue was a dream come true work opportunity and a personal milestone in its own. This collaboration has opened up many opportunities for us and has given us the visibility to showcase our talent which we had been looking forward to.”

— Tanvi Sukharam (The Matin Cappuccinoo)

Record Engagement on Pinterest

People come to Pinterest to look for beauty inspiration for everything from the latest products to try to tips and tutorials for everyday looks and special occasions. This year, Pinterest has seen record levels of engagement on the platform as people looked for ideas to stay inspired as they stayed inside. In India, searches increased 74% year over year and boards created increased 76% year over year. We’ve also seen Pinterest search trends shift in light of the global pandemic and worked with Vogue to highlight these trends in their social posts, an article that was published online (read here) and in their October 2020 print issue.

As seen on Vogue India’s Instagram profile: In the last few months, Pinterest has seen an increase in the number of searches for “DIY skincare,” “eye-enhancing makeup,” “male grooming tips” and other newfound beauty routines that Pinners have adopted in this pandemic.

Pinterest was incredibly excited to be able to partner with Vogue to reach the millions of beauty Pinners in India to help them find inspiration to create a life (and look) that they love.
