As you’re getting ready to dive into Pinterest, make sure you’re making the most out of the tools that we have for your site!

A great first step is to claim your website, so that we can give you attribution for your content.

Why claim my website?

Claiming your website will unlock these handy features:

  • Website analytics: get access to website analytics so you can see what people are saving from your website. Make sure you also upgrade to the (free!) business account to enable this feature.
  • Featured logo: any Pins that come from your site will have your profile picture added next to them
  • Early access to tools: Be the first to try out new tools and features

How do I do this?

In your account settings, you will see a Claim Website section. Type in your website, and click claim to get the code.

To claim your website, you need to be able to add a meta tag in <head> section of your site’s homepage, or upload a verification file under your site’s root directory. This means that you can claim your website for domains like www.example.com, or blog.example.com, but note that you cannot claim a subfolder like www.example.com/blog.

For more details on how to claim your website depending on which platform it’s hosted on, see this article.
