Important Information Sapling Migration

Until February 15th there is still the possibility to migrate your ARRR-Coins from Sprout to Sapling.

ATTENTION!!! Don’t forget the migration!!!

If you have not touched your ARRR for several weeks and months, you should READ NOW. Because it’s one of the last reminders before your coins might be worthless on 15th February.
If you have already migrated your coins to Sapling, then everything is OK. However, if you are reading words like Sprout, Sapling, Deadline, zs-addresses and Migration for the first time, you should read carefully now.

In December 2018 there was an important update for Pirate. Some would also say it was a fork. That was it, too, except that there was no new coin, but the funds had to move from zc addresses to zs addresses. zc addresses were the old sprout addresses. zs addresses are the new sapling addresses. Since 15.02.19 all addresses in Sprout (zc-addresses) are worthless. So if you still have your money in Sprout, you should react now so that you don’t lose your money.

However, all owners of ARRR still need to become active by 15th February 2019. Everyone must migrate their ARRR from their sprout address to a newly generated sapling address.

There are several ways to migrate your ARRR in Sprout to Sapling.

The easiest and most convenient way is via the migration tool that does the migration for you.

How does it work?
1.) You provide your zs Sapling address. That is the new address you want to receive the migrated coins to. (you will have to generate this in Agama or via CLI)
2.) Get your Deposit Address by clicking Get Get Deposit Addres
3.) You are provided with a zc Address to which you send your Coins from your current zc (sprout) address(es)
4.) You are all done now you have to wait a little bit.
5.) The Migration Process will migrate the zc funds to zs Sapling within max. 24 hours.

Zmigrate Checklist (Please follow the instructions in this sequence):

1. Backup wallet.dat and WIF Keys (!!! VERY IMPORTANT !!!)

* Wallet.dat location:

Windows: %AppData%\Komodo\Pirate
MacOS: ~/Library/Application\ Support/Komodo/PIRATE
Linux: ~/.komodo/PIRATE

2. Download latest Agama (0.3.3.a)

3. Sync Pirate wallet to 100%

If you have issues sync-ing delete everything in Data Dir and bootstrap it.

Download bootstrap .zip or .tar.gz depending on your OS and unzip in Data Dir posted above
!!! VERY IMPORTANT !!! bootstrapping needs to be done with wallet stopped and Agama closed

4. Create zs (sapling) address from Agama > Received Tab > New Address or from terminal * MacOS:

cd /Applications/Agama.app/Contents/Resources/app/assets/bin/osx

./komodo-cli -ac_name=PIRATE z_getnewaddress

./komodo-cli -ac_name=PIRATE z_exportkey zsAddressYouJustCreated

5. Follow KNOX zmigrate instructions

Zmigrate dApp will first merge all your utxo’s (funds) in a new zc (sprout) address, then it will create and send them to R addresses and from there they will be moved to the zs (sapling) address you provided when running the ./zmigrate PIRATE zsAddress.

!!! Let it run, do not kill the komodod process as it can put bad data / corrupt your wallet and you’ll have to start over !!!

!!! The process will take between 2 hours to few days depending on how much ARRR you have !!!

!!! If you are on Windows turn off Automatic Updates and Automatic Restarts as this has caused issues !!!

!!! If you are on a Macbook disable Sleep: System Preferences > Energy Saver > Power Adapter Tab > Check Prevent computer from sleeping automatically & put your macbook to charge !!!

!!! Once zmigrate is done it will ask you to press <Enter> to clear opids -> press enter; check your funds !!!

If you still have funds in zc (sprout) address run zmigrate again !!!
