If you are reading this guide, You probably heard about PirateChain (ARRR) the most private cryptocurrency to date.
To keep your coins safe and make transactions, you will need to run a full node wallet on your computer (Windows, Linux or MacOS).
In this guide I will show You how to download, and start a Pirate wallet with the SevenSeas GUI.
First, head over to GitHub where you can find the wallet source code, and executable files.
Now based on your technical knowledge, you either compile it yourself from source, or you can download one of the pre-compiled releases.
Always choose the latest one, unless instructed otherwise.
As of now, the latest releases are the following:
Once you downloaded the file extract it into a folder (on OSX just open the .dmg)
After starting the daemon and the GUI, wait for the chain to sync to 100%, you can skip this long synchronization by downloading the blockchain bootstrap from https://bootstrap.dexstats.info/PIRATE-bootstrap.tar.gz
Close the wallet if you have it open, wait for it to properly close before changing blockchain files.
Place the decompressed Bootstrap Folders (thereby replacing the folders which are already present (your local blockchain data already started to sync some blocks but is not finished) in these following locations already
on MacOS ~/Library/Application\ Support/Komodo/PIRATE/ on
on Windows %appdata%\Komodo\PIRATE\
on Linux ~/.komodo/PIRATE/
“~” being a your users account home folder, and then once you have done this do start your wallet again and you have thereby sped up the syncing process.
You should see 4 files.
komodod (the daemon that runs the wallet)
komodo-cli (command line application for wallet commands)
pirated (batch file to start the daemon with PIRATE parameters)
sevenseas (wallet GUI executable)
Now lets run Sevenseas (.exe on Windows) it should automatically download zCash Parameteres for you if it’s a fresh wallet. (if zCashParams are missing just run GUI once without the daemon)
(on Windows you have to manually start pirated.bat before launching the GUI, this will be fixed in the next release. when you see “finished loading blocks PIRATE” you can start GUI, don’t close command line window)
If you get a pop-up from your firewall or anti-virus, allow the application on them.
Now you can Send / Receive / Store PIRATE.
To import / export private keys go to File > Import / Export Private Keys
To send go to Send Tab enter amount and address where to send.
To see transactions go to Transactions Tab (you can turn off tx history in Options)
