Well I tried to be myself… Too bad the people I was talking to didn’t really care about that.

I’m learned another valuable lesson today. While it is important to be authentic and true to yourself. You have to remember that not everyone will be the audience that you are expecting them to be.

It’s not always the audience you expect

The world isn’t made of your cheerleaders shouting “Rah Rah Rah” for you. They have their own agenda.

Today I wanted people to talk about being productive, but they just wanted to talk about their products.

Overall my first conference was somewhat of a let down, I absolutely enjoyed the mixer and I think I could have did a lot of things better.

  • Listened to more talks
  • Did less Interviews
  • Talk with people mostly about their journey and not about what I wanted them to talk about (created friends instead of clients.)

I did meet a few people that I really enjoyed talking to. I wish I would have spent more time meeting people like that instead of scheduling interviews.

That’s okay I have some interviews and I have to make the best of it.

Thoughts for the day:

  • Be Authentic but remember your audience
  • Cherish the relationships you can create over the business opportunities

Well, it’s back to work tomorrow. I’m looking for to working with this new outlook, even if I’m not the most happy to return to work.
