I know what you’re thinking — The world needs as many resources as possible, but I’m not here to compile another detailed list. This article here is to serve as a list of lists of resources that are out there — and this list, is not exhaustive (pun intended).

A quick update on how my team and I at Pitchspot are doing: Since the beginning of March, we started preparing for work-from-home arrangements, anticipating Circuit Breaker (CB) measures here in Singapore. It’s gotten pretty serious — the Singapore Government are dishing out fines for those who don’t wear a mask when outdoors.

Nonetheless, if you’re sitting at home with your laptop reading this, you’d agree that we’ve seen (a number of) comprehensive lists of resources floating around on Facebook or LinkedIn — I felt compelled to aggregate some (or even most) of these lists, in this here article.

So here we go, in no particular order of importance: —

Tools

  • 111 Free Tools to Help You Through the Pandemic. Online tools ranging from video conferencing to productivity tools.
  • COVID-19 Ecosystem Support (APAC). Discounts on products and services put forward by the startup community in APAC. Kudos to the e27 team for compiling this one.
  • Support Startups. An initiative by Venture Capital firms Cocoon Capital, 500 Startups, and Openspace Ventures of a compiled list of startups offering preferential rates to those affected by COVID-19 — A whole lot #SGPride over here.
  • Resource Hub by GGV. Everyone’s doing their part, and while the pandemic is looming, GGV held several panel discussions and shared some notes/articles for founders and entrepreneurs.
  • Startup COVID-19 Layoffs/Potential Hires. A massive spreadsheet of talents based in SEA who were laid off due to COVID-19, and companies looking to fill some roles amidst the pandemic.
  • Techstars Resource Guide. Great compilation of all things Techstars, with online events you can register for, and a table of contents ranging from fundraising to mental health.
  • Tech against Coronavirus. Three categories to navigate — great tools, some of which we’d probably know of but some of them are interesting, like Erase All Kittens, a gamification method to teach girls aged 8–13 how to code.
  • Ventures List. A friend of mine, Felix, recommended Ventures List — a list of over 500 active Venture Capitals, Startup Accelerators, Angel investors, Impact Investments, and Crowdfunding Platforms in the Asia Pacific region.
  • Coronavirus Resources & Readings. Also from a16z, this carefully curated list spans everything from official sources, trackers, and data sites to medical journal information hubs, background readings, and Twitter accounts.
  • 65+ tools enabling remote work. CBInsights’ list on 65+ tools you can tap on whilst working remotely. We wrote a separate piece on 8 Tips on how best to WFH, check it out here.
  • List of Amazing Design People. A consolidated list of designers seeking jobs during COVID-19 — it highlights their profiles to hiring managers.
  • List of EdTech Resources. EduSpaze rallied the different players in the community to contribute useful tools and resources to support learning for kids, parents, educators and enterprises during the COVID-19 period.
  • SG Startup Talent Directory. Yes I’m still updating this list — here’s one for some of the most adaptable and tenacious people, check out this list by Renee.

Articles

  • Sequoia’s Black Swan of 2020. Not really a resource per se, but it’s good advice (and a good read!) that delves deep into what is, what used to be, and what could happen for the rest of the year.
  • Reading List for Leaders in Uncertain Times. The a16z team looked at their archives in the past decade and listed some of their best pieces on leadership, grit, and managing a startup in times of uncertainty.
  • The Future of Work. Pretty cool map done up by Pietro, on the startup-investor ecosystem relating to the future of work. It’s a great list/map to check out with various solutions you can adopt to move your work from a physical location to fully remote.
  • The Suddenly Remote Playbook. Toptal — an exclusive community for freelancers came up with a playbook to help those who are adapting to remote work for the first time.
  • Collated Resources for Startups. The Action Community for Entrepreneurship together with Enterprise Singapore’s list of resources.
  • AngelCentral Support for COVID-19. What Shao-Ning and Teck Moh has put here are reading materials, webinars, and local grants that are offered to startups and SMEs. The Grants and Support segment covers not only Singapore, but Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam.
  • Government Links (Singapore). A supplement to the one above — this is a list comprising purely links from the Singapore Government and the budgets they’ve released to help locals tide over the pandemic.
  • SGTech x IMDA Resources for Startups. They call it a Digital Solutions Package — it is what it is. Since SGTech and IMDA are faculties of the Singapore government, this one provides a comprehensive list of vendors to ease you and your team into working remotely, etc.
  • Found8 Resource Pack. This 10-page document from the renowned co-working space aims to provide timely content, and promotions from different service providers to users and anyone affected by the pandemic.
  • COVID-19 SG Help. Catered to students and Singaporeans, this is a community-contributed list of resources — what you’ll find here is Internships for Students 2020, Community Care, and where to volunteer.
  • she1K. Christina runs the She1K outfit to connect corporate exec women worldwide, from all industries to empower innovative entrepreneurship with high growth potential. Check out an upcoming event (she1K Happy Hour) and more.

Dashboards

  • COVID-19 in visuals. Visual Capitalist came up with this list of 7 best COVID-19 visualisation(s) — it helps us to better understand the impact and spread of the virus, and perhaps inspire our future designs?
  • Singapore COVID Dashboard. Speaking of visuals — here’s another one that’s done locally. Four data visualisation tools to get an overview of the cases here in Singapore.
  • Freelancers’ Resources. It might just be a Wordpress page, but for all freelancers out there, especially those based in the US, it puts context into what’s really going on.

Learning and Development

  • Free MOOCs from Ivy League schools. Many Massive open online Courses (MOOCs) were released to the public for free — like what Zwee used to tell me — “Always be learning”, am I right?
  • Grow with Google. It’s an initiative by Google to help you work, teach and learn from anywhere. They’ve compiled a list of tools and resources you can use to stay connected and productive.
  • Mentorship. A friend of mine introduced this to me and it’s wild — It’s a really comprehensive list of over 200 mentors you can seek advice from. Heard that the signups are closing sometime end April — sign up soon, mentee aspirants!
  • List of eBooks by Springer. A release of over 400 e-textbooks from Springer (mostly at the university level), made freely available.
  • 11 places for thrifty bookworms. Calling all bookworms: — if a textbook is way too long to read — check this one out, a list of pages where you can download free eBooks.
  • PDF Drive. Basically an open-sourced ebook repository. Here’re my picks — Extreme Ownership, Hard things about hard things, and Misbehaving.

Non-Profit

  • Google for Non-Profits. Google’s provided a list of benefits and resources for those who are working in non-profit organisations. Similarly, ImpactCloud’s got quite a list of extensive support for NGOs. Thanks Prof. Albert for this.
  • Donation Guide (Singapore). Seedly has done up a list of social causes and organisations you can make donations to to help the underprivileged and needy. Share love, not virus.
  • 10 Free Software for Non-Profits. Calling all non-profits out there — Bantu came up with a list of software tools non-profits can utilise during COVID-19.

Health and Wellness

Miscellaneous

  • Zoom Backgrounds. Spice up your WFH meeting style with some of the best Zoom backgrounds I’ve seen!
  • A list of alcohol delivery vendors. How could I have missed this — A list of alcohol delivery vendors to ensure you write drunk, edit sober.
  • 12 Museums to Visit Online. Visit museums around the world online, including The Lourve, The Vatican Museums, and NASA.
  • Make money whilst at home. The ultimate guides to breaking into careers with 6-figure salaries.
  • Rice Cooker Recipes. Yes, I know. I’ve a thing for rice. A list of easy-to-cook rice cooker recipes. Think of it as a one-pot recipe; “Easy to cook, easy to eat, easy to wash.” — That’s what Mom tells me anyway.
  • Singapore Hawker List. A community-made directory of hawkers and small F&B stores. — Another one, #SGUnite.
  • Singapore F&B Resource Compilation. We’re a foodie nation and we care about our smaller F&B establishments — many of such lists are popping up and no one is better than the other. Check this one out by Savour Singapore— immensely impressed by the #StrongerTogether movement.

If I’ve missed any lists that you think should be included, please send them over to me — I’ll keep this list updated regularly. A note though, I’ll only be including lists, lest it defeats the purpose of the title of this article.

If you enjoyed this one, hold onto the applause button until the pandemic ends. Have a good one everyone, and reach out if you’d like to chat. Importantly, stay safe, stay healthy.
